4 tier wedding cake with buttercream, white satin ribbon around each layer, and white satin bows. Buttercream roses on top. Each layer was a different flavor.
The bows are completely separate from the ribbon. The ribbon is wrapped around the cake, seam side in front. Then I make a separate bow and secure it to the seam (to hide it) with just a dab of hot glue. The bows never get oily! Thanks!
tsmspt - Thanks! I just used little wooden dowels. I cut them so they are just a hair higher than the frosting. It makes it super easy to remove the cake layers and serve them.
Pretty cake. I hope you don't mind, but I had a bride who fell in love with your cake and asked me to make her one in yellow! I only hope that mine is as pretty.

This is a very pretty cake. What trick did you use to keep the bows from getting oily in the BC?
