the cake is beautiful. how do you get the frosting so smooth?

Thanks! I just use a dough scraper and just keep running it under hot water and smoothing the icing that way. It took a lot of practice to get the smoothing technique down pat. :)

are those real ribbon? did they just stick to the buttercream like that? what kind of ribbon b/c I don't see any grease marks! it's beautiful! [email protected]

Yep, it's real ribbon. Since the cake is iced with whipped cream icing, the ribbon just stuck to it very easily, which was great! No grease marks, either! Thanks for your nice comments! :)

I'm such a butter cream fan, but your photos are making me think I should try this "whipped cream icing"!! Does it taste like buttercream? I just love all your cakes!!

Thanks!!!! My whipped cream icing is a lot lighter and less sweet than buttercream. My customers really like it, though.
