Family Relaxing

Family Relaxing on Cake Central

I made this cake for a man who celebrated his 40th birthday. His wife requested all of the family to be included on the cake as she didn't want anybody to feel left out! Even the dog got his nose in!

that is so awesome of you!.....you can also do a step by step for the site if you wanted. I am sure that Jackie would put it with the other tutorials. Of course if you wanted to. I will be the first in line for your slide show though! I can't wait!

The slideshow cd is in the hands of my website genius! He's going to make a link on my website so anyone can download it if they want it. Saves me blocking my e-mail! I'll let you know as soon as he's done.

I love your fondant figures. Are you in Scotland? The first fondant wedding topper I ever saw was in Scotland when my son got married almost two years ago. Your work is great please let me know if you get tutorial going at [email protected] Thanks

I've started on a slideshow on how to make the heads on characters as this is what I am asked most about. It's taking a bit of time but I'll inform on the forum when it is finished.

Thankyou again so much. I used to draw a lot of cartoons and animated figures for my children when they were younger. I didn't know I could bring them to life using sugar until I tried. Believe me, the very first ones I did now make me cringe! I have developed a style of my own over time but still look for new things to try.

Wow! Great job!! Man those are so cute! How'd you get the little girls shoes so shiny?'80') Now.. silly question (But I don't know..) Is this fondant?

The shine is accomplished with a light brushing of confectioners glaze. Very sticky and the brush needs to be cleaned with a glaze cleaner and then washing up liquid and rinsed thoroughly otherwise you'll waste your brush. Yes, it is fondant, known to me as sugarpaste. Regalice Professional Sugarpaste mixed with CMC powder to turn it into modelling paste. I'm so grateful for these wonderful comments.

I have had so much response to my character work that I am thinking about putting a slide show together and sending it to anyone who wants it. I don't know how long it would take me to actually do it in between making the cakes I have waiting to be done but it might be a good idea. What do you think? Cheaper than buying a flight to the USA from Scotland too! ha ha ha ha
