Wedding Cake Cookies

Wedding Cake Cookies on Cake Central

These were the cookies for my largest order thus far. I made 550 of these cookies for wedding reception take-aways. The bride bagged them herself, thank goodness. I learned a lot doing this job, and, have another one coming in October.

$4 a dozen in my opinion is underpriced. You should be charging a minimum of $2 a cookie depending on the cookie size and complexity of the decorating. These aren't just cookies, they are decorated which takes ingredients and time. Don't under price yourself or you'll get stuck doing so. People who admire and like your cookies will give you business. Your time is valuable. I would rather decline an order than sell myself short. I am in a small rural town as well. Hope this helps.

I learned that things always take longer than you think, and, that I will charge more next time. I normally charge $5 per dozen and only charged $4 per dozen since the order was so large. I would really like feedback from others on pricing. I live in a small rural town, so, I worry that much more would hurt my business. I work a full time job, so, this is just extra income.

I charge $8.00 - 10.00/doz. depending on difficulty, and the numbers of colors used. If I individually wrap them with card stock, cellophane bag and coordinating bow, I charge $1.50/each. I live in a small college town and once people taste the cookies, they always order more. Keep up the good work.

We charge $15 per dozen for detailed cookies and $3.00 extra each dozen if they want them bagged. We are very rurally also but once they try them and see the detail - they understand.

Questions for you: Did you freeze the baked cookies to enable you to make them in bulk? Do you, instead of outlining, then filling, do the whole thing at once to give it that smooth look? I'm doing a wedding Sept. 130 cookies. Any tips?? BEAUTIFUL, by the way Thanks in advance.

Wow! I knew I was pricing them low, but, have been scared that no one would buy them if I raise them. I piped the B w/royal and then dipped in non-pareils. If you have price lists that you don't mind sharing, em [email protected]. I have considered charging extra based on the number of colors. When you have to re-visit each cookie 3 or 4 times, it really adds on the time.

Your pricing is VERY low. And I know not every area commands the same price, but wedding cookie favors should go for at least $1.00 each. I don't live in a big city and am doing similar cookies for $4 each. The bride compared me to internet pricing and has ordered from me before. I thought I was low. You really need to revisit your pricing cause it is A LOT of work for so little money.

Really nice cookies, you are underpricing way too much. I am doing 9 dozen wedding cookies this week and I am charging $15 per dozen plus an extra $2 per dozen for cello wrapping. I think my price is too low for all the time we put in to them.

I bake them and freeze for two reasons. With such a large order, it was the only way around my schedule. And, I freeze every cookie I do. This recipe is a soft cookie, and, freezing them helps to give them some body so they don't break when I ice them. I outline and then flow in. I use Wilton royal recipe, but, mix it a little looser so it flows in and doesn't leave an outline look.

JoMama....thanks so much. One more question, did you consider icing then freezing, or did you do this? Thanks so much!

This icing doesn't freeze well. The cookies taste just as good as the first day you make them even if frozen for a month, but, the icing discolors, especially on dark or bright colors, red, blue, etc.
