Ladybug Cake

Ladybug Cake on Cake Central

This is a huge carrot cake with cream cheese icing. I made 2 9-inch layers and torted, filled with cream cheese icing and decorated with the same. Thanks so much to Charman for the inspiration. Her cake is much prettier, but I loved the idea and wanted to give it a try. It was a lot of fun.

WOW! Be sure to watch for my attempt at your design . . . though my comments will say yours is much prettier but I had fun! SO IMPRESSIVE! How did you do the ladybugs?

They are really easy. I used a tip #12 (which is why they are large) and made the body, flattened with my finger which I dipped in cornstarch. Then used #4 tip for the head, legs and antennas, and spots. I got my inspiration from another decorator on this site, Charman and looked at her cake to see what to do. Very easy!!
