    Hi Esther, you did a good job with your cake and with the hyacinth. As for the smoothing of the frosting, take you spatular and put it in a jar or container of hot water and wipe water off with paper towel, then try smoothing out the cake while moving the turntable keeping the spatular looking downwards while holding the handle. I hope this helps. :)

    If you use a crusting type of icing, you can use Viva papertowels too smooth it also ... I use them all the time .. if you can't find plain white, then you use the printed kind but use the non-printed side to smooth with :)
