Mollie's 1St Birthday Cake

Mollie's 1St Birthday Cake on Cake Central

This was made for my granddaughter's 1st birthday. It's a Fifi Forget-me-not cake, based on her watering can house, with Fifi peeping out the window. I've not seen the TV show, but my son and his wife tell me Mollie loves it. Two chocolate muds, layered with whipped ganache and carved to shape, then covered in fondant with modelling paste spout handles, and figures. The board is iced with royal icing.

Keira, the supports were terrible! I actually used wire through the handle on the side of the cake, because I broke two before I got this one right. and I stuck the wire into the cake, which is a BIG no no, but for a customer I would use a flower pick, the spout was literally just shoved into the cake and then I wrapped a sausage around for extra support.
