Practice Mini Wedding Cake

Practice Mini Wedding Cake on Cake Central

This is my first cake in a couple of years, my first wedding cake and the first time I have used MMF. The decorations are buttercream and it was too stiff, so they aren't so good, but it's just practice, right? Please give me some honest feedback, I really need to get this right before the real thing in July.

I think it looks really nice :) I want to get the smaller pans and do some of the mini cakes .. I think they're adorable .. keep up the great work!

Beautiful!. I think you did a great job since its been a couple of years , you haven't lost your skills. for the buttercream icing a couple of teaspoons of light corn syrup makes it softer for smoother piping.

Thanks! I will try the corn syrup trick, I didn't know that one. I just noticed that this is in the wrong gallery, oops!

dont get the plastic mini-pans I don't know about everyone else, but I didn'tlike them. I am going to get the metal ones.

At first I found the MMF very frustrating. It was very stiff and even crumbled a bit. Then I decided to pop it in the microwave. 15 seconds later, it was easy to roll out.

You may want to try to make a stencil or try the Wilton decorator presses so that all of your swirls are the same size. Beyond that, I think it looks GREAT!
