4Th Of July Cupcake Cake
This is just a cupcake cake I decided to make the morning of the 4th. Vanilla cupcakes w/BC frosting. Took it to a BBQ and no one wanted to eat it. So my 5yr DH said "Oh, you just take one like this and eat it!" And so it began and was gone quickly. Thanks for looking.
Looks great! I have a question though, since I've never tried a cupcake cake. How do you get your top icing smooth like that. I mean, how do you keep it from falling in the cracks between the cupcakes? I've always wondered that...
Well, I just PILE on the frosting. It does fall in the crackes, but then that makes it smoothe. Then I used a VIVA papertowel to really smooth it. I have seen some people pipe frosting in the gaps, but it has always worked for me to just pile it on. I also try to stagger my cupcakes when possible to keep the gaps down.
