Kitty on Cake Central

A Debbie Brown inspired design, Wilton ball pan covered in fondant strips to look like a ball of yarn, cat is modling paste, he wanted more servings than just the ball so we added a 10in round cake shaped to look like a country rug. I was very happy at how the board came out, I had to take a pic of it without the cake on it, It is covered in fondant and make to look like a hard wood floor complet with nail heads. Pretty happy with this one.

Thank you, Cakefairy: I covered the 12in board in fondant, then used a ruler to mark the long boards then used a toothpick to add the wood grain and a dowel to mark the nail heads. I mixed brown powdered food color with vodaka and painted the whole thing pretty heavely waited ten min. then rebrushed it lightyl with a dry paintbrush so the woodgrain stayed darker.

Your wood (and the whole thing!) is great!!! I tried the planks and nailheads on a pirate ship a month ago, and our daughter said they looked more like wormholes!
