It's refreshing to see a textured cake now and again instead of a super smooth look. This is a GREAT way to ice a cake if you can't get it smooth! This is absolutely beautiful!! Very nice work indeed!!
They actually wanted it that way, the bride showed me a cake picture that was textured, and I kind of played around with it and came up with this, it kind of resembles roman columns. Thanks for the compliment.

i crumb coated it first, them put on a think layer of buttercream and swiped my pallete knife in an upward motion, all around the cake removing the excess. Thanks for the compliments!
