very cute I have to do the same cake or simular to Sun. for my son's 8th b-day team is coming over , did you use dowel to hold the football down

Thanks you all!! The football is on a cardboard cut to fit. I cut 4 straws equal in length to put into the sheetcake so that they would hold the football just barely above the icing on the sheetcake. This keeps the football from sticking to the icing below it when it is removed. I do the same with my wedding cakes. I think the straws are just as reliable and a lot easier to cut. Good luck!
