Uncle Sam's Slide

Here is my 4th of July cake. I was going for topsy turvy with a big tent feel. Covered in mmf, hand painted, royal icing snail trail, Uncle Sam is mmf. Top is 6" White Russian cake with choc. ganache filling, Bottom is 9" Black Russian cake with choc Ganache filling. Tasted awsome! Thanks to missjane for her inspiring Uncle Sam cake! Really love the use of color and the Uncle Sam is priceless. I wanted to do one of those coming out of cake, and no one would let me. Said it was too much work. Its clear that you put a lot of work and love into this and I think you were successful in achieving look you wanted : )

Thanks everyone! I realized later that I forgot to give Uncle Sam a mouth...not a political statement...just forgot..lol. lane316 - don't let anyone tell you that you can't make a cake!!!! Especially for a holiday, they are not like birthday's where everyone knows what they want...for holiday cakes you can get as creative as you want. I try to learn a new tech. when I do a cake just for me..always wanted to try painting...so I finally got to! Thanks again all!
