Red Roses

Red Roses on Cake Central

This is a 12" white cake with White Buttercream Icing topped with approx. 50 roses. There's a Wilton book that has a similar cake on the cover with 2 shades of pink roses. I made that one a week prior to this one. My aunt wanted a white cake with red roses and so I chose the same design because I wanted to see the pink one in another color.

Very, very nice! I want to try this design also, but what the heck do you do with all those royal icing roses once the cake is eaten?!

The roses are all buttercream. I made each one on a wax paper square and let them sit overnight. Then I used my flower sissors to lift them off the waxed paper and placed them on the cake. I made my icing thick so I could color it with "no taste" red and then added a little "red red" coloring. I make the icing thick so the color won't thin it too much. Thanks!!

What a beautiful cake. I know the picture in which you're talking, and I too want to try it I think it's lovely! You did a great job!
