4th of July Cupcake Cake

This was very last minute - DH told his mother I'd make one for their party on Saturday - WITHOUT asking me first!? (Our house is a construction zone right now) grrrrrrr Anyway - I went ahead and did it, with some suggestions from a few of you here and on another board. Left half is chocolate sour cream cc's, right half is red velvet - cream cheese icing all over. This went really quickly and I think I'm now hooked on these little ccc's! Thanks for looking!

Looks great for not having time or space. Wow! May I ask..how do you get the dark blue? I have Navy coloring but mine always turns out more royal colored.

Thanks, y'all. To get that dark blue, I used the last of my Wilton royal blue and then added a tiny bit of black and just let it sit for a couple of hrs. in the fridge.

Where did you get the choc sour cream recipe? Is it really moist? I am new here, so may I ask what cc is?

At first i thought the border was Jelly Beans :lol: but find out its icing - gotcha! Already got the creative ideas going just from this cake for our family party. Thanks!
