Cake for my son's Pre-school Playgroup 25th Anniversary Garden Party. Fondant covered: rich fruit cake for bottom tier, chocolate cake for middle tier, & lemon cake for top tier. Prayer cut out with FMM tappits, children made with help of Sculpey Moulds.
Love your cake! The desigin is way too cute! Lots of time into this one, I am sure!
lovely!
Thanks everyone. Took a few goes before I got the hang of the moulds ... Just make sure you dust the moulds well with cornflour before you begin each one. I used modelling paste (gum paste?), so it was not too wet. Use a small amount of paste, roll into a ball & push into mould as required. Use only enough to fill the mould (or bit of mould - I used a shirt here, & shorts/dress there & mix & matched). Get your edges neat & then pop them out! A few first attempts were necessary before I mastered it!
Wow Eilers, this is the best celebration cake I've ever seen! You must have spent so much time making the children with all their different outfits. I hope that your playgroup were very grateful! God bless you
How adorable! I love the kids. They are so sweet looking. The colors are perfect.
This an adorable cake!!!! You did an excellent job! And the kids are GREAT!!! Which sculpting molds are reffering too? Is there a website to buy them?
Your cake looks amazing! Great job! I love the tent on top.
WOW so cool! What are FFM tappits?
The children are made with a flexible push mould by a company called Sculpey, I got it from a UK website makeawishcakeshop.co.uk that I found through ebay. I've just noticed on the back of the packet that they have a website www.sculpey.com .. don't know if they sell direct?! The FMM tappits are a set of alphabet cutters, they are widely available in most good cake craft websites. Thank you all for your lovely comments, & thank you for not noticing my lobsided handwriting on the tent!!
These molds can be bought at Michael's, in the modeling clay area.
How adorable!!!! I love the colors. I really love the little figures. So sweet
So cute! Your cake is absolutely amazing! Great job!!!
Looks great. I just purchased some of the sculpey molds (from Michaels for those of us in the US - in the clay section).. However these molds are giving me fits. I would appreciate any tips you could provide.
Love your cake. It must have taken a good deal of time and patience. I have the molds and little patience to deal with them. Congrats!
fabulous!
this is so cool! How did you do the tent top? Is it being held up by something? it looks great! [email protected]
