My First Tier Cake!

My First Tier Cake! on Cake Central

This cake has three tiers, 10", 8", and 6". The largest tier has a rasberry filling. The middle tier has a whipped dark chocolate filling. The smallest tier has a buttercream filling. The outside of all the tiers is a hot chocolate buttercream icing. My inspiration cake was a wedding cake; however, I made this at the request of my 11 year old daughter for her birthday. She was thrilled at the final product and that makes it worth the work!

I used cardboard cake boards but covered them in fondant. Then I used the Wilton globes with hidden pillars and covered the globes in fondant to match. Made all the fondant pieces a few days early to dry out.

Oh, I forgot to say, I used the square plastic separator plates in a size smaller than the cardboard. That is why you can't see them but it gives them stability.
