Antique Plate Cake

This cake was made for a lady that wanted me to match the plate in the picture. It was for a party where the plates would be used. Originally she just wanted me to match the plate but then she called and asked if I could seperate the cake into 20 pieces so she could cut long thin slices with decorations on each slice. So this is what I came up with. It is a crusting cream cheese icing with royal flowers and gold luster dust accents.

Thanks for the compliments! The crusting cream cheese icing is a recpe from this site. You can find it under the recipe section. It crusts over just like buttercream so you can smooth with a Viva paper towel or parchment paper.

OMG, that's like a work of art and shouldn't be cut. lol You definitely gave this customer what she wanted! Beautiful and elegant. A very classy looking cake!
