Just a small cake for a neighbor's birthday. Cake is 3.75" x 3.75". White cake w/ BC. Covered in MMF and then MMF shapes. Painted with luster dusts. Cake is displayed on candle holder. Thanks for looking!
wow...you painted the pieces after they were put on the cake? I don't know that i'd be able to "keep it in the lines" I'd be afraid I'd color the MMF inbetween the pieces...got any tips (other than a very steady hand)? It's really beautiful...and so different!
This si very cool looking! I love mosaic anyway, but how neat to see it on a cake! Looks like a LOT of intricate work though. Exactly HOW did you do this?
Thanks guys. Basically, I covered the cake with MMF.Then I just started cutting out little shapes. For some, I used little cutters, but alot of it was done by hand. I used about 12 or so different colors of luster..trying out my latest purchase :) Pieces were painted after they were put on cake.

Great looking cake.....beautiful colors used. I'm still learning about luster dusts. Did you use different color luster dust for each color?
Great job in cutting out the various shapes and designs!! I really like it!
What a neat cake! Like everyone else, I would love to know how you done this too? Did you paint each piece before placing it on the cake?
