Working with "real" cakes is a lot more difficult than working with dummies. I'd charge about $3,50 per slice if it's from scratch and it looks as good as this one.
i adhered different sized rounds with a glue gun, then carved into the basic shape I wanted for each tier. Next I "spackled" it with royal icing. Let it dry and then sanded smooth. Kneading the gel colors into the fondant was hard work! I worked on this cake for over a week in my spare time. If I had to guess, I bet I have at least 20 hours into it.
