Horse Cake

Horse Cake on Cake Central

Made a trip to Sugarcraft on Saturday and had to come home and bake/decorate/eat this little fella:) Did the horse in chocolate ganache and buttercream stars around him. If anyone knows how to keep ganache from cracking, I'd appreciate hearing how :) Want to do one of these in August for my bil. Plan to use green "grass" and blue sky next time.

My little three year old saw this on the computer and said, "wow, mom. A horsie!" I told him it was a cake and he said he wants it for his next birthday tomorrow (his birthday is in April). He thinks it looks great and I do, too!

thanks - I did get the pan from Sugarcraft - its a Pantastic Pan and its made of plastic. I baked mine at 325 in the over and it did great :)

If I didn't know better (and I only know because you mentioned it) I would think the ganache "cracking" was actually the veins on the horse. Looks more authentic!!!!
