It is all colorflow - I got the design from the 2001 Wilton book. It was a lot of fun to make even though I was soo worried about breaking the pieces. I have a spare set that I could do an extra cake with... LOL

That's absolutely gorgeous! I wonder if I could do something like that without venturing into colorflow...

shebaben: I thought about doing the window and curtains in fondant because I was a little hesitant about colorflow... but you know what, it was OK to do. You just have to make sure that you make doubles in case one breaks.

This cake is so cute! I'm making a 1/2 sheet cake with a large color flow design like this and was wondering what you would charge?

on

graduatern: I made this one free of charge for my niece's baptism. However, I was told by a few CC members that a cake like this one would sell for $75 to $100. It is an 11x15 sheet.

This looks great. This is a design I have used alot, although I'm scared of breaking, so I just do the drawing straight on the cake with buttercream. Yours looks perfect!

This is such a cute cake. I think I will do something similar for my daughter and sil when they move into their new house. It will make a cute house warming cake too I think

Color Flow is a technique to make cake decorations using a special mix that hardens. It is much like royal icing. You outline your design and then you "flood" with thinned color flow.

8O is the baby made with color flow also?..the window seems to be flotating, not in direct contact with the cake, how did you do that or is the angle in which the picture was taken???

I've never seen anything like this before. It's a stunner! How on earth did you make the panes for the wondows!?! What did you use as a pattern for the angels? They're precious. I am super impressed here. Don't know how I missed this one for so long. It's wonderful!!!!!!!
