Lover's Whirl

Lover's Whirl on Cake Central

This cake is so very near and dear to my heart. I made it for my sister for her wedding on May, 20th. It was done in fondant with fondant hearts swirling around and out of the top like an explosion, all the hearts were covered in a cran. red and champagne disco luster dust. Bottom tier was almond with rasp, next to bottom was red velvet with cream cheese, next tier was choc. with choc filling and then the tiers started over with the flavors. Pic. taken a little funny, cake didn't look wonky in person.

Thanks, it does take a bit of patience here and there, but she is great with ideas and I can bounce anything off of her and she gives me truthful feedback. So, that is always helpful

My mother in law (business partner) is the master mind behind this one. She is so creative, it is a blast to work with her, she doesn't decorate cakes, but when it came down to the wire, she helped put alot of the swirling hearts on.

I love this idea -- and it came out GREAT -- kudos to your MIL for the design - and to you in executing it!!!

thanks, yep you got it, just really light gauge gold wire with fondant hearts on the end. Seperator is one we purchased from Lindy Smith's website.

Very pretty cake. How did you do the topper. Is this just floral wire with the fondant heartson the end? And what did you use to separate the layers with? That is a very unique piece. Love it as usual.
