In album: bug
for the retirement party of a vw repairman. I used the Wilton VW bug pan, but didn't want to use an outer buttercream icing. I cut the cake in half, filled it with a thin layer of buttercream, masked it in buttercream, froze it solid for 4 hours and then easily moulded it with rolled fondant instead. The decorations are fondant and gumpaste.

You did a great job. I'm making my first 3D cake from this pan for my daughter's 16th birthday. I'm doing it in buttercream stars. I better start piping those stars now so I'll be done by July 7th. lol

Great job! Did you have any problem with condensation on the fondant as the cake thawed out?

no, it didn't seem to affect it at all...luckily!
