joining in on this one too! I am new at this cake stuff but you give us hope that one day we might come within a fraction of how well you did this cake. I had a question as to how you keep your lace so even all the way around the cake? Thanks

Awesome! What kind of icing did you use for the string work ? and when you go to move the cake what keeps the string work from breaking ?

You have inspired a few copy cats out there! Imitation is the highest form of compliment! This is just absolutely amazing work. The pearls look soo real. Wonderful bridge and string work. Beautifully done!

What I used was actually a 20" pressboard table top bought from a popular hardware superstore. I covered it in plastic wrap and foil and then covered it with the fondant and then glued the ribbon around the edge! RHONDI~This is my sister's house in San Diego! It's high up in Scripps Ranch and you can see I-15, down town, LaJolla, and the Pacific Ocean! I made the cake down there for the cake show! Yeah, I love her kitchen too!

Absolutely Stunning! I know how much work is involved in those "strings" and the Corneli Lace is beautiful.

I love this look on a cake, it is so fancy looking. Question, for your bridge work did you pipe it or make it out of fondant? Wonderful cake!!
