Soccer Time
Double layer, half white, half choc. Soccer ball is Duncan Hines yellow cake mix with reduced oil for a firmer texture. (Everyone said this was the best yellow cake they had ever eaten.) All buttercream icing. The soccerball is by far the most difficult cake I've done. I was pleased with the outcome though.
wow!! it is awesome. Did you use a dowel thru the ball to keep it on the other cake
No, I did not use a dowel, however that probably would have been a great idea. I did end up "doweling" it for travel to it's destination however. I used several wooden skewers and stuck them down thru the ball the whole way thru the cake to the cardboard to keep it from tipping during the long drive to the birthday party. I did place dowels under the cake and used a round cake board to hold the ball, however.
Hi! I am new tocake decorating and my granddaughter want's a soccer cake. Was wondering how you made the grass. What tip do you use. Love the cake. Thanks
The grass was made with tip 233 ... the grass making tip. It is very easy! Good luck.
can you tell me what pan you used for the ball??
I used the Wilton round ball pan.
