Hello Kitty Cake

Hello Kitty Cake on Cake Central

This is the second one of these that i made. Made some little changes to this one. The first one was an 8 inch, this is a 10 inch, which meant that kitty had to be a LOT bigger. It was hard to keep her head from falling over. I think she weighs about a pound. She is made in gumpaste. The gift box, rope border and ribbon bows on the board are extras not included in the first one. Cake is four layers of dark choc mudcake filled with whipped dark chocolate ganache, covered in whipped ganache and fondX.

Nati, another beautiful job. I´ve got a question though: You always use scramptious (sp.) fillings that need to be refrigerated with fondant. How do you do that? Do you refrigerate your cakes?

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the kitty! She looks better than the real hello kitty made by the company! I am sure the little girl will keep her forever!

boonenati this cake is lovely. All your work is wonderful. I just don't know who this "kitty" is? I seen her all over cakecentral and don't know the character.

frindmi, i do refrigerate most of my cakes. Kitty was not attached, the lady that bought it wants to keep her, so she is in a box, and the cake is in the fridge. I use fondX and have no problems with refrigeration. It's in a closed cake box.
