Orange Goodness!

Orange Goodness! on Cake Central

This is an orange cake, iced with italian buttercream. It has a citrus filling. I find that the anything iced with the italian buttercream is best served chilled. It's all personal preference I guess.

is the italian butterceam recipe you found the same as the italian butterceam meringue frosting recipe on this site? Also, I couldn't find a recipe for citrus filling, your cake looks so yummy, i wanted to try the exact recipes.

Yes, the icing is the Italian Buttercream Meringue and the name if the filling is Lemon Orange Filling. Sorry, I had the name wrong. You should try it. The only thing I would change is that the icing needed to be a little sweeter. Which the recipe notes about at the bottom.

Please don't gasp in horror, but...........It was an orange cake mix from Duncan Hines! Sorry!?!?! But I swear I made the Italian Buttercream from scratch. It is the one from this site. The filling is also from this site (Citrus filling). I used 1 TB. of lemon juice and 2 TB. orange juice. Basically I combined all of what I had and ended up with an amazingly good orange cake!
