I see the one dowel in the middle, is that the only one you used? How did you keep it from sliding off the back?

no there were two dowels. i just sat it on there and prayed! :lol: i think it looks like it's sitting up higher then it is. as long as the cake doesn't isn't moved after you sit the lid on...it should be fine.

This was really a great looking treasure chest. I just made one and keeping my fingers crossed when I need to deliver for the reason you mentioned afraid of backsliding. Is the map out of fondant and with color markers? Great job.
