First_Wedding_Cake.jpg
This is my first tiered/wedding cake I've done. It was a gift to my brother and sister in law. I had no idea the time (and oven space) to bake an 18", 14" 10" and 6' into layered cakes. Yet, they were very appreciative, so that makes it all worth it. The picture I went from was iced with fondant, yet my brother wanted buttercream. I smoothed the edges to make it look rounded. A viva paper towel was a great help. The ribbon was easy to put on. The silver pearls were made of fondant and luster dust.
roller? Please advise how you got such clean edges. This cake is perfection!
terrific job..I thought it was fondant! scroll work is great and I love the colours
Wow..I love your cake...like mrsright said I hope my first wedding cake looks as good as yours! I thought it was fondant too! Great job!
So it's iced with buttercream? It looks wonderful. I happened to notice that the design on the cake very closely resembles the design on the tablecloth. Beautiful work!
this is a beautiful cake. i like the bright color and the simplicity of the cake makes it attractive but not over or under decorated. you did a great job!
Thanks so much!! Your nice comments mean a lot. I so didn't plan to match the tablecloth, how weird.
very gorgeous cake..i thought it was fondant as well....too perfect....
Absolutely fabulous!
Very, very nice. Good Job!
This really turned out beautifully. I love the colors and all I can say is that I hope my first wedding cake turns out this well. :D :D
Great job! It's a very lovely cake. I love the side scroll design.
Well I used a roller (similar to a pizza dough roller) a few minutes after I put on the buttercream. You dont want to wait to long or it will be too dry and crack.
That cake is absolutely beautiful! Seriously one of my all time favorites!
I love the scrolls! GORGEOUS!
Nicely done, one cake that I like done in orange
You did wonderful! They must have been so pleased!!! It's perfectly smooth and even.
It did smooth out nice thanks to a roller, I wish I could find metal pans that are smooth around on the edges with straight sides. Any ideas??
I think you did a fantastic job.
