First Whimsical Cake
A young lady turning 18 wanted a "Mad Hatter" cake for her birthday. She found a pic on the internet and sent it to me. The pic was 4 tiers but only needed 3 tiers. Actually needed less than that but she wanted 3 tiers. Funny, I constructed it and know it's totally stable, but if I walk by it and catch a glimpse from the corner of my eye...I want to run over and catch it before it falls over..LOL!
Forgot to mention that it is BC frosting with fondant accents on bottom and middle layers.
That looks great! You did a wonderful job!
Wow... so nice, your BC so smooth and white. Did you use any colouring agent ? Mind share with me the recipe? [email protected]
wow, i love this, the center tier reminds me of the background on my website. Gorgeous Cake!!!
I didn't put enough stripes on the bottom so I improvished with the green squiggles.
really nice, you did a great job! how did you get your icing so smooth?
very nice
this cake is gorgeous!!!!!!!!! I bet she had a hard time letting anyone cut into it!!! Did you think it was difficult to construct??? I'm so afraid to try one of these!
Excellent Job!
Wow, this looks great. At first look, I thought you used fondant to cover !! This is great.
Not really difficult--I followed the tutorial here on CC. I didn't freeze mine as much as the tutorial said. I crumb-coated and let set overnight, fosted and smoothed bottom tier with Viva papertowel, then put next tier in place--frosted and smoothed. Repeat with third tier.
Gorgeous!
