I live in the Adirondack Mts of northern NYS. This was for a bride whose wedding was under a tent in her Grandma's backyard, right on the lake on a picture perfect day. The cake was covered in buttercream, then the mountains were hand cut of fondant and painted with luster dusts and snowcapped with more BC. The brides dad made the birch stand.
