This was my first time to do a wedding cake. I did it as a favor to help out a lady at my husband's work. It turned out pretty, but there were some crumbs in the icing that I didn't notice until it was too late. I don't think they stood out to anyone else, though. I made the topper out of gumpaste and put super pearl and super gold dusts on it. All I see are the flaws when I look at it, but the ladies at the reception site thought it was gorgeous, so that made me feel better.

Pretty Cake !!!I like the brushed embroidery! Did you pipe on buttercream and then youse a brush?

Thanks for the compliments. Yes, I made a light impression in the buttercream with a cutter, piped over the impression, and (with a light hand) pulled the icing inward using a damp brush.
