In community album: Square Wedding Cakes
Three tier, squares in 12", 8" and 4", buttercream icing, white cake inside. Decorated with fresh roses. The bride emailed me a picture of a cake similar to this one 2 weeks before her wedding. Thank goodness I didn't have that date booked for a wedding and was able to do the cake!

Beautiful job. It's very elegant, especially with the rose petals and fresh roses on top.

I'm not sure where the bride got the monogram initials from.... she provided those and the person coordinating the decorations tells me after I had already gotten the top flowers arranged that she had the monogram initials for the cake ... because of the small size of the top tier, I could only put them on the cake the way I did ... one on each side and the large initial in the topper.

OK I have showed this to a customer and she wants this cake..I hope I can do as good as you did. Are those edible pearls or are they just dots? Also did you just put the flowers straight in the cake or did you use flower picks?
    ntertayneme 6/13/06 at 7:06am
Those are just dots and I used tip #6 to make them. I have an impression mat that I used to make the dots first, then filled them in with buttercream icing so it would be even. The mat is really for pearls but I used it for the dots and it worked well. I stuck the roses straight into the cake. I always wash my stems off before I do this and dry them well before sticking them into the cake. Good luck and if you have any questions, just pm me and I'll be happy to try to answer them for you :)

where did you get the 4in pan------very pretty
    ntertayneme 6/23/06 at 5:23am
I can't remember exactly where I got the 4" pan, but bakingtools.com has some. I believe the one they have is a 3" deep pan but I'm sure it'd work also. Mine is a 2" pan :)
