In album: topsy-turvy
This was one of my first topsy turvy cakes so my fondant work was not that great, but this is still one of my favorite cakes of all times. I called it Spongeberry Dorradumpling. It was for my daughter’s third birthday – she is now about to turn 6…where does the time go. She couldn't decide between Spongebob, Dora and Strawberry Shortcake or Apple Dumpling. So – I gave them all to her. The Strawberry Shortcake and Apple Dumpling figurines were mine from 27 years ago.

Wow! Sounds like my soon to be 4 year old - she changes her mind virtually everyday as to what she wants the theme of her cake to be - might have to take a leaf out of your book and give her the lot!

Egads that's too cute for words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really wanted to try and see if it would work - multiple themes on one cake. I saw one cake on this iste that had a fbct of dora and strawberry shortcake - and thought, yes you can. This was just our family cake, so if it turned out awful I wasn't too worried. Her party is not till next weekend and we have a luau theme. So this was strictly just for her. Thanks all.

Brilliant! I love that you went for it! And the cake itself it terrific! Makes me sad, though, that the "new" Strawberry Shortcake characters & toys aren't nearly as cute as they were when we were kids!

I just wish that the Strawberry Shortcake toys of today would compair to the toys of "our" day. I was looking for new ones to put on this cake and some of them just looked scarry. Ahh, those were the days.

This is all the way cute.
