Baby Block Cake Over View on Cake Central

I used the 6 X 2 inch square pans and tiered the cakes, each block is about 6 X 4 1/2 in size and I used cookie cutters to make the impressions to make the letters and designs.....Each cake is a different flavor..one is chocolate, one carrot cake, one white and one strawberry and I used Cream Cheese Icing... Here's the icing recipe I used: Cream Cheese Icing: Makes about 2 1/2 cups.. 1-package ( 8 ounces ) cream cheese, softened 1-tablespoon milk 1-teaspoon vanilla 4-cups powdered sugar Beat cream cheese, milk and vanilla in large bowl on low speed, until smooth. Gradually add in powdered sugar,1-cup at a time, until smooth and of spreading consistency. For the Booties: You use three large marshmallows, cut one in half and stack it on one of the other marshmallows...you use your icing to stick the two and a half marshmallows together...using your # 16 or # 18 open star tip you begin at the bottom making in-line shells and go all around the two bottom marshmallows, working your way upwards, when you get to the half marshmallow you work your way around it in the same manner,on the top of the lower marshmallow you work your shells in a up and down motion...this gives the illusion of a crocheted look as well :o)

Love the cake design & how you displayed it. I also saw this cake several weeks ago & decided to do it for a shower this weekend. Could you also email me the direction for doing this cake. I haven't used cream cheese icing much when it comes to decorating. Do you use a special recipe for cream cheese? I mostly used buttercream icing. I've only been decorating cake for about a year. Still a new one on the block. Email address [email protected]
