This is the 2nd one of these that I've done (the 1st was for a man). Top tier is chocolate, bottom tier is white....all buttercream except for the lady's head, arms & legs (MMF).

Great job - but, I don't think 30 is over the hill - I'm only 32! I hope the 30 year old wacked you a good one! haha. All kidding aside, this is a great cake!

I love this! What size pans did you use? A friend of mine saw this and asked me to do it (or something similar) for her dad and uncle's (twins) 70th birthdays.

I love it!! Would you share the directions to make this cake??
CustomCakesBySharon 7/19/06 at 12:40pm
sking- i made the head, arms and legs out of MMF.....before icing the top layer, i cut out a tomb size hole and slanted the front end some so that the person would b visible....i put the body parts in position and piped the clothes and hair with buttercream....does that answer ur question?
sking 7/20/06 at 9:28am
yes, thank you I can't wait to try this cake!

I am making this cake this week for a friend and just wondering what color green did you use? I have already colored my icing with wilton's leaf green but it doesn't seem as grassy colored as yours.
CustomCakesBySharon 7/26/06 at 9:34am
i used the leaf green as well....if it doesn't look dark enuff, i sometimes add just a tiny touch of black to bring it down until it's the color i want....i didn't do it on this cake, but have found that making the border grass a tad darker than the smoothed grass looks better as well.....check out my 'school's out' cake for an example of this....good luck with ur cake for the twins!

Thanks!! I'll try adding some more green and if that doesn't work maybe I'll try a little touch of black. I made my man figures last night and I am dying laughing becuase I need a lot of practice with that part. My hands and feet almost look webbed!
