this was done for my daughters birthday party. we have an above ground pool and that is what she wanted for her cake also. she turned 7 and i let her decide on what type of cake she wanted. i had a blast with this one. the palm tree float and ball are all fondant and then painted. everything else is BC.

This is too cute! Please tell us how you did the water? I would love to try the pool for our summer picnic, we also have an above ground pool and would love to replicate this one!

i had some blue iciing that i put on the top. then i went back with a little bit of white on my spatula and dabbed in a few spots and swirled it then repeat all over the top. then took the spatula and dabbed straight up for the ripples. then took clear sparkle stuff and sprinkled on by my fingers to break them up more. then took small blue candy sprinkles on top of that then small white candy sprinkles on top of that. it really was a fun cake to do. i was so pleased with the turn out of it.
