I used americolor super red...just one drop ....and yes I used royal for the black so it wouldn't smudge when I bagged them.....oh and the eyes were pieces of white fondant cut with a gumpaste cutter that's for making a rose petal (tear drop shaped)

Very neat idea. Just wondering if you used the wilton no taste red coloring and did you use royal icing for the black so it would be stiff?
