Chocolate Strawberries Cake
Triple chocolate cake made for my husband's 92 yr. old grandmother's birthday. Two-2.5 inch layers and strawberry filling make up this cake. This was iced with chocolate buttercream icing in a basketweave pattern. The basket "lids" were cardboard covered in buttercream in the basketweave pattern, also.
Thanks for the comments, actually I put a little too much shortening in the buttercream-therefore it looks "wet" just grease thou :-) As for how did I get it so dark? I couldn't tell you to be honest, I just used nestle's cocoa powder.
I love your cake . how did you get your chocolate so dark . I did one but use candy for the base for the lids but will use card board the next time.
