1St Fondant Wedding Cake
My 2nd wedding cake and my 1st fondant cake. Although it didn't come out exactly as I'd envisioned, the couple and the guests were thrilled. A few roses were added later, which brought a beautiful splash of color, but I don't have a pic. of that yet. A 16", 14", 10", 8", and 6" cake with yellow and white; rasp. bc, almond bc, lemon curd, and rasp. mousse. Homemade fondant -- the Wilton recipe.Almost had a heart attack a few times, but survived. THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE ON THIS SITE WHO HELPED ME OUT!
Good eye gma1956 -- it is based on a M. Stewart setup that the bride wanted but we were unable to do it exactly as it appeared in the mag photo because it used cala lilies, which are toxic, and we couldn't find clear cylindrical separators.
Hey, for a 1st timer.....your cakes are just great!!!!!! Keep up the good work
Thank you very much for the compliment.
Great job!
great job! It looks fantastic. That is a LOT of homemade fondant! My hero!
WOW That turned out well
Pretty....I like those new "Pearl" separators Wilton came out with...hoping to get mine in a few weeks...was it easy to assemble with them?
wow! how very beautiful! Looks amazing!
Thank you. Yes, the pearl separators are a cinch! I highly recommend them. However, they look really plastic when you take them out of the box. But then on the cake, they really look great!
Very pretty. Simple and classic. Nice job!
Great job for the first time, it just gets easier. I love the background - If I didn't know better I'd say that was a M Stewart cake setup.
Love it to bits! Great work!
Very nice!!
Great job! I can't believe it's your first wedding cake. I would have never known :)

You did an amazing job on this! When there are few to no decorations (in which to hide any imperfections) it's always a more difficult cake. You did an incredible job - and making your own fondant, too - Wow!!
