I made this for my dad's surprise 60th birthday party. He likes the movie The Towering Inferno, and I thought it might make a good idea for a cake. The fire truck is a pound cake, and the building is 3 tiers: white w/raspberry filling, yellow w/ apricot filling, and chocolate w/ ganache. All iced in buttercream.

Thanks! It's 3 two layer cakes, one chocolate w/ganache filling, one yellow w/ apricot filling, & 1 white w/raspberry filling. All the decorations are buttercream.

Wow, that's ALOT OF CAKE. I think it's adorable. Did you have to partition between the different cake flavors to handle the weight? How on earth did you cut it?

I did have each tier on a cake board supported with straws, like a wedding cake. The people working the party cut it, they took it apart so they could cut a small amount of each flavor. Thanks for the nice words, everyone!
