The bodies of the birds were modeled freehand. The freehand feathers were also cut from gumpaste then imprinted with a feather veiner.

Your cake is beautiful! I have the hardest time getting the fondant out of the lettering set. How did you do it? Those are the same words my son and his bride to be have on their wedding invitations. I'm doing the cake for the rehearsal dinner and would love to put that verse on it.

Used a 50:50 mix of gumpaste, fondant. Roll semi thin in pasta maker. Let dry 10 min. Dust with luster dust or confectionary sugar. Then cut letters. Let sit 10 more min before removing from cutter. Some trial and error involved.

8O Oh my gosh!!! How beautiful!!! I love the shine. I have yet to work with luster dusts. Which kind did you use??? So elegant and lovely.........
