Wow! It's the first time I've seen a gingerbread town like this! Can you tell us more about how you did this? For the coloured accents are they made out of fondant? Great job on this one, you just inspired me to make one for Christmas!
All the structural pieces that aren't made out of gingerbread are made out of pastillage. You can paint it or whatever when it's dry. and it doesn't expand like gingerbread. the cobblestones are fondant with a stone impression mat then sponge painted with icing colors mixed with clear vanilla. The gallery pic frame window is pastillage with royal icing piping painted with gold lustre dust. Mostof the rest is candy, cookies, etc. You would not believe how I run all over town looking for cool candy...
Wow!!! THAT's AWESOME!!! We don't have a tradition of making gingerbread houses here in Puerto Rico... But this year I will try to make one for myself.
this is absolutely beautiful, do you have somthing inside to support the weight, structually?? also what are your windows made of the clear glass?? it is so beautiful,. you should be so proud, it would be interesting to know if the person who bought it acctually ate it or if its still sitting around to look at, love it

That is so awesome!! Great work! What did you use for the windows? [I've never made a gingerbread house before...]
Windows are made out of gelatin sheets. I made these and they were a big pain, but you can buy sheet gelatin.
