Wow!!! THAT's AWESOME!!! We don't have a tradition of making gingerbread houses here in Puerto Rico... But this year I will try to make one for myself.
Wow! It's the first time I've seen a gingerbread town like this! Can you tell us more about how you did this? For the coloured accents are they made out of fondant? Great job on this one, you just inspired me to make one for Christmas!
All the structural pieces that aren't made out of gingerbread are made out of pastillage. You can paint it or whatever when it's dry. and it doesn't expand like gingerbread. the cobblestones are fondant with a stone impression mat then sponge painted with icing colors mixed with clear vanilla. The gallery pic frame window is pastillage with royal icing piping painted with gold lustre dust. Mostof the rest is candy, cookies,etc. You would not believe how I run all over town looking for cool candy...
