Ivory buttercream with fondant stripe accents and tassle. Hat is made from mini ball pan covered in fondant. Mortarboard is made from white chocolate candy melts. Inspired by TamiAZ's version.
Wow! Thank you all for such nice comments! Makes me feel so good! For the mortarboard, I just spread the melted chocolate on cardboard cut to the right size/shape and froze it for a few min, popped it off the cardboard and viola. I used the diamond impression mat for the pattern on the top tier.

How beautiful and classy!!! I love the all ivory, the diamond/pearl pattern, the cap and diploma. A+ :)
Great cake! Very elegant for graduation! If you don't mind my asking, how did you "cut" the candymelt mortar board?
Great Cake... how did you do the lines on the top layer??
Wonderful!!
Very, very pretty cake!! Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful ivory cake, everything looks great and looks tasty too! What size cakes did you use for each tier?
It's two layer 6" top and 8" bottom rounds. Both are torted and filled for extra height.
