Pink Kitty
Would this kitty have looked better if it was darker pink? The little girl turning 5 wanted a pink kitty cake for her birthday (with roses). I thought light pink would be cute, but maybe the face just wasn't done as cute as it could have been. I could have given her larger, round, "cartooney" eyes, instead of trying to make it so much like a cat. Also, the lines around the mouth could have been thinner. Let me know what you think! Thanks!
I showed this to my daughter and got a big "awwww!" It's a beautiful cake! What a sweet expression on the kitty, too.
It is a very cute kitty, and the colour is quite ok.. I would maybe think of the eyes like cartooney eyes would be nice.. How did you make it. By a shaped pan or did you carve it out ?? Looks great with all the roses too !!!

Thanks! I noticed after I uploaded, that the eyes are a little "off". Cartoon would have been best I bet. I used the "loveable animal" pan, it's an OLD Wilton, I got it on ebay & then had to look-up the directions online. I also carved a Dolphin jumping out of the water from this pan, I love it! So, no carving involved for this cake, except to point the ears (the loveable animal has rounded ears). It kind of looks like Simba as a cub if you want to get one, that's what I thought.
