Double-layer 1/2 slab cake cut into dress shape for Bridal Shower. Filled with fresh sliced strawberries. I wanted the bottom of the dress to look like ruffles, so I used the #104 tip to make a crinolin look.

Very nice. What I like is that you kept it simple which makes it look so pretty. especially the ruffles

Thanks! I added the bow because it was so plain and ivory. She didn't tell me what colour, but I figured pink would do.

I'm looking into making a wedding dress shaped cake to look like the brides dress for my friends shower. Did you ice this? That isn't fondant right? What did you use to make the bow?
antonia74 3/10/10 at 6:11pm
I iced it in IMBC buttercream and the bow is fondant. :)
