Boy's castle

This was for my middle son's birthday. The castle is based on Lindy Smith's castle cake in her Storybook Cakes book. The board is covered in fondant and I had painted on the message. The crest symbols are edible images of the Kelley family crest.

I think this is going to be my favorite castle cake ever! I mean really, it looks like a big castle toy instead of a cake, it's wonderful!! ;-D :D

Thanks everyone for the kind comments! The cake is actually pretty small--the center portion is a 5 x 5 square that is 6 inches tall. The towers are each 8 x 3.
