Would You Use This For Self Promoting????do I Want To Know The Answer? on Cake Central

This is a cinnamon swirl cake with cream cheese icing. As you can all see it is for a Partylite party. I was going to give this to the hostess and hopefully I would get some business...but it didn't turn out well at all and am wondering if I should even give it to her. Please give me your opinion....Thanks!

It looks great! Only you can see the imperfections. I think she would like it, once you cut into it, as long as it tastes good that all that matters. Just bring a portfolio along so you can show them everything else you've done if you are insecure about that cake.

Yes, we tend to beat ourselves up about cakes that everyone else finds beautiful. I would be very happy to receive that cake. It's very nice.

I agree with the others, as decorators, we are our worst critics and tend to see every imperfection, I can tell you from past experience - they will LOVE it!

I have always said, "There are BAKERS, and ---there are TAKERS!" I've found over the years that the TAKERS very rarely ever know or think to look for what the BAKERS would! Your cake is wonderful, and she'll just love it! Let us know...

Your cake looks great! you know what? if you do a FBCT and it doesn't turn out perfectly the way you want it, you can pipe overtop of it once it's on the cake. Like with your cake, you could 'trace' the candles and the partylite name and it would 'pop' off the cake(just something i've found with my cakes).
