Mother's Day / Retirement

Mother's Day / Retirement on Cake Central

I made this for my friend's Mother. Her retirement party & Mother's Day happened to fall at the same time. She has a lot of hobbies, so her family wanted to somehow display them on the cake. I chose to write it around the cake on the ribbon in caligraphy. The top tier is French vanilla and the bottom is chocolate, both with buttercream filling. The bow is fondant with gumtex added to it.

Thank you so much! I stressed out so much about how I was going to write on the side of the cake and actually make it look good. So I had a lady come to my home and teach me caligraphy. I just tilted the cake and wrote away. I was so happy with the way it turned out. The good thing about caligraphy is, is if the letters aren't all the same size it looks like you meant to do it that way.
